The Boston Bruins face a do-or-die situation as they take on the Florida Panthers in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. The puck drops at 7:00 PM ET at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, with the game televised on ESPN.

The Panthers hold a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series after winning the past three games, including two in Boston. The Bruins enter the game as significant underdogs, with the Panthers heavily favored to close out the series on home ice.

Bruins vs Panthers Prediction

After a strong start in Game 1, the Bruins have struggled to match the Panthers’ intensity and offensive firepower. Florida has outscored Boston 15-5 over the past three games, showcasing their firepower, depth and ability to adapt.

The Bruins’ chances of extending the series have been dealt a significant blow with the absence of their captain, Brad Marchand, who will miss Game 5 due to an upper-body injury sustained in Game 3. Marchand’s leadership, offensive contributions, and ability to get under the skin of his opponents will be missed.

The Panthers’ momentum, home-ice advantage, and the Bruins’ injury woes make it difficult to envision a scenario where Boston can pull off the upset. The Panthers have been playing with a sense of purpose and determination, eager to prove that last year’s run to the Stanley Cup Final was no fluke.
