Running back Ronald Jones gave his reasons for choosing the the Kansas City Chiefs over other teams in free agency when the team officially announced their acquisition of the 24-year-old.
Jones was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they won the Super Bowl two seasons ago, and now he has joined the team the Bucs defeated for another chance to compete for a Lombardi trophy.
Ronald Jones: A good fit
He has signed a one-year, $5 million deal with Kansas City, believing that he will mesh with the team and that he will have a chance to show off his talents.

“They fit very well, talking to Coach (Andy Reid) and Coach EB (Eric Bieniemy). Just seeing the things they do with running backs, I think my skill set translates perfectly. They’re excited to see (it),” Jones said.
He had a lot of competition for field time with his teammates at Tampa Bay, recording only 101 carries for 428 yards and four touchdowns last season. This pales in comparison with his performance the year before where he carried for 978 yards and seven touchdowns.
Ronald Jones: More action on the field
Jones expects to see more play time with the team, especially with reassurances from the one calling the shots.
“I think that’s another thing about the Andy Reid system, everybody’s going to eat. I’m just excited to see my number get called and take it from there,” he said.
“I just look forward to getting the opportunities and getting out there and making the most of them.”
