Knockout winners
Oliveira boasts a 31-8-0 record, with 10 wins by knockout and 19 by submission, while his challenger Poirier stands at 28-6-0, with 15 knockout wins and six by submission.

But Poirier has quite the record himself- as of June this year, he has been ranked #1 in the UFC lightweight rankings. The statistics show that the Louisiana native packs quite a powerful punch, having a 54% knockout percentage in his wins, compared to Oliveira’s tally of 32% knockout victories.
Highly-ranked, pound for pound
The American is also at #5 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings, while Oliveira is at #8.
Both fighters have seen action in the cage for more than ten years, although Olivier has more experience, with five fights more than Poirier tucked in his belt.
