The 2021 World Series, like the prior Championship series, is a best-of-7 series with the hosting privileges going to the team with the best regular-season winning percentage, Houston.

The Atlanta Braves advanced past the National League Championship Series, while the Houston  Astros secured their spot by winning the American League.

MLB World Series 2021: where and when?

The showdown with the former National League rivals who have played more than 700 times, including five postseason series, gets underway tonight, Tuesday 26 October at the Minute Maid Park.

Houston will play host for two consecutive games at Minute Maid Park, while Atlanta will host up to three consecutive games at Truist Park. Games 6 and 7 will probably be back in Houston.

The Astros and Braves have not faced each other since 2017 because of COVID-19 and all the restrictions that came with it. Since then, it was decided that home-field advantage goes to the league champion team with the better regular-season win-loss record, which is why Houston is hosting this year.
